GREENWOOD, Wis.
Athanatos Christian Ministries, (ACM) an apologetics organization based in Greenwood, Wisconsin, has announced that it has plans to host a Christian arts festival in their area, August 4-7, 2016. The arts festival is part of ACM’s efforts to defend the Christian faith in the culture, through the arts.
Executive director Dr. Anthony Horvath says, “Mark Twain once said that you cannot reason someone out of a position that they didn’t reason themselves into. In my experience talking with people who have fallen away from the faith, it is clear that many of them don’t have rationale arguments for their skepticism. Instead, it’s as though they absorbed their objections from movies, music, and books. In other words, if the culture is toxic, the people are poisoned. ‘Cleanse’ the culture, and people will still need to have the Gospel proclaimed to them, but at least we won’t be fighting as much against unseen beliefs and values.”
ACM has been hosting online conferences that focus on integrating Christian apologetics into film and literature for several years. The arts festival will go even further, inviting painters, musicians, graphic artists, and other creative formats, to participate, as well.
