'Heal Our Land' Service June 13 in Appleton

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 - New International Version).

On June 13th, 2008 SALT Ministries and other local ministry partners will be taking this Scripture to the people, and to the Lord. Their “Healing Our Land Service” is intended to seek repentance, reconciliation, and restoration of ethnic communities in the area to bring healing to our land. SALT Ministries wishes to embrace giftings these ethnic groups and recognize the distinct call that God has uniquely placed on the hearts of each ethnic group.

Currently, SALT has invited several African/American pastors to participate, and they are seeking American Indian pastors who would be interested as well. “We feel that these two ethnic groups have been the most miss-treated groups in our area. The First Nations people are the Gate Keepers of the land and there needs to be some curses broken off the land because of broken treaties and the shedding of Innocent blood.” (Quoted from a member of SALT Ministries).

The service will begin with praise and worship to bring glory to God, by seeking his presence. Through prayer, and worship, the groups intend to come together to the Lord, looking for opportunities for forgiveness and to seek God’s will for bringing peace to our land. Through prayer, the group has discerned that curses exist on our land. Only though an act of heartfelt repentance, with the ethnic groups involved, will God release these curses and bring prosperity to our area again.

Though this service, SALT Ministries is trusting that God will bring peace, and prosperity to the land. Seeking His will, and bringing unity to God’s people is their greatest desire through this event. They wish to invite all God’s people, who are led to be involved, to come and share their heart with all, and to become part of the solution. This is a foundational meeting for continuing relationship and dialogue among all ethnic groups.

This event will take place on June 13th, at 7:00 p.m. at 303 N. Oneida St., in downtown Appleton, on the northwest corner of Oneida St. and Franklin St.
