   There are moments in history when people slowly become aware of what is truly happening around them. Today is one of those moments. For years, the cracks in our Republic have been widening. The battles were waged quietly at first — in courtrooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and on university campuses. But now, the conflict is clearly visible. It has poured out into the streets of our cities. America is at war with itself.

   The legacy media refer to it as “political unrest” or “federal overreach.” Some shrug and say it’s nothing new — just more partisan sound bites and position bickering. But look closer. Federal troops are being readied as the President contemplates invoking the Insurrection Act. 

   Signed into law in 1807 by Thomas Jefferson, the Insurrection Act grants the U.S. President authority to deploy federal troops within the United States to suppress civil disorder when State authorities are unable or unwilling to stop violent uprisings and protect their citizens’ constitutional rights.
