Writing this column for this Special Year-End Edition of Wisconsin Christian News has been my most difficult piece yet. In my review and deep reflection of the many significant events that occurred and continue to play out as we embrace the start of yet another year, I found a deeply disturbing consistency that involves every major news report we see, hear, and read. I became so alarmed at my discovery as I prepared my column that I completely abandoned my intended topic, which does not comport well with allocated print space and submission deadlines. I’m sure that my insistence to change topics caused WCN editor Rob Pue more problems than he deserves, but it’s that important.
Broadly, this alarming consistency can best be described as “weaponized programming,” and it’s one of the most dangerous and destructive weapons being used against Christians and conservatives right now. It not only explains nearly everything we’ve experienced in our lives but has become exceedingly more dangerous and deadlier in 2025. Once you see it, you won’t be able to unsee it.
