AI: For Good or for Evil?

   Many communities across the country are debating and contending the approval of data centers.  These centers are directly affiliated with the infrastructure for massive computer networks for the housing and computation of data.  Such centers are critical for the support structure for artificial intelligence or just “AI” for short.

   Testimonies from the public in opposition to these centers have warned of the massive quantity of energy consumption each data center requires including large amounts of electricity and water.  Other expressed concern relates to the land required.  Farm lands once used to grow our food now are the target for the establishment of many centers.  

   As of early 2026, there are approximately 5400 data centers across the country with projections of nearly 3000 more that are either proposed or under construction.

   AI has increased efficiency and productivity in many settings, and it has enabled the field of medicine to advance.

   But while technology serves useful purposes, AI will also be used to a significant extent for evil.  Even now, AI is being used to deceive individuals by altering images, voices and documents to place in the mind of the viewer an impression opposite of the truth.  On January 20, 2026, The Christian Post reported, “ ...
