Complimentary Story
April 2026There is a political party that, despite never having run a single candidate or even having its own headquarters, has somehow caused all of America’s problems. Both the Democratic and Republican Parties cite this party at their political rallies and press conferences as being to blame for everything from the rising costs of gas, food, housing, and health care prices to the national debt and crime. Both major parties claim that this party is the reason their party is unable to implement its policies or keep its campaign promises once elected.
Who is the party that has caused so much damage despite having zero political power in Congress or state legislatures?
The Other Party.
The Other Party is such a political powerhouse that they don’t need to get anyone elected, and they somehow still control elected Democrats and Republicans and how they vote.
Just kidding, my friends. Of course, there is no such party.
But you wouldn’t know that to listen to the Democrats and Republicans every day.
Whenever a Democrat or a Republican strategist or commentator is confronted by talk show hosts or the press on harmful policies or bad legislation approved by their party’s majority in Congress or state legislators and signed by their party’s president or governors, that party’s representative replies:
“Well, what about the Other Party? What about them? When the Other Party was in power, they did this…”
“You must understand. The reason the economy still hasn’t recovered under our party’s president is that he is still trying to undo the enormous damage the Other Party’s president/governor caused.”
“You can’t blame our party for not being able to fix this. The Other Party has the majority control of the House and Senate. They are the ones keeping our party’s bills in committee, preventing them from a vote on the floor. The Other Party refuses to work in a bipartisan way.”
“Let’s not forget that this failed legislation was shoved through by a straight-line vote of the Other Party without a single vote from us.”
My article can be summed up in one word: “accountability.”
Both parties’ incumbent candidates will say, “But we are accountable…to the voters. If they don’t agree with our policies or how we voted, they will hold us responsible at the polls.”
Nice try, Democrats and Republicans, but being fired from a job (voters at the polls not re-electing someone) is not the same as an employee (an elected official) going to his/her employer (the voters) before their scheduled evaluation (election day) and saying, “I made a mistake on the job. Here is what I did or failed to do and how I will fix it.”
Think back, friends. Whenever a policy or legislation that either party wanted is passed, and it ends up making things worse or fails outright, you never see the leadership of either party call a press conference, saying, “We’re sorry our party caused this problem, America. Here is what our elected members are going to do to fix this.”
Here are just some of the things both parties did that they never apologized for:
• The national debt. Elected members of both parties grew our debt over the decades with borrowed and printed fiat money.
• Obamacare. The so-called “Affordable Care Act” forced Americans to buy a product or face fines. Barack Obama never said, “I promised Americans they wouldn’t lose their doctor or health care plan. I lied. I’m sorry, America.”
And who gave us Supreme Court Justice John Roberts, who wrongly claimed Obamacare was a tax, allowing Democrats to force the ACA on us? George W. Bush, Republican.
• The IRS and the confusing, punitive income tax, which allows the IRS to get first crack at the gross earnings of those who earn the money. Created by and continually funded by members of both parties since 1913.
• The fatal, botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. No apology from Joe Biden or his party.
• All the federal agencies both parties fund which aren’t listed in Article 1; Section 8 as powers the federal government has permission to fund and operate.
How many Democrats and Republicans, despite repeatedly causing problems and violating the Constitution with their votes and proposed legislation, keep running for re-election? True accountability would be them publicly apologizing and then filing papers of non-candidacy.
Go ahead, Democrats and Republicans, tell us that only the Other Party votes to deficit spend, and your Congressional members never do. Tell us how your party’s elected officials always obey the written Constitution and that only the Other Party violates it. Go ahead.
Didn’t think so.
