Most people know the name Jeffrey Epstein and the broad-brush strokes of his life story. Born in 1953, Epstein rose from the streets of Brooklyn, NY, to take a teaching position at the prestigious Dalton School in Manhattan. He then transitioned to finance at Bear Stearns, leaving there to start his own wealth management firm.
From the early 1990s, Epstein cultivated close relationships with powerful figures, from U.S. presidents to British and European royalty. He amassed extreme wealth, bought multiple mansions, boats, his own aircraft, and his now infamous 78-acre island in the Caribbean.
Although much of his life, as well as his alleged death in a New York prison on August 10, 2019, is clouded in mystery and the subject of debate, Epstein’s long history of perversion and involvement in elite sex trafficking and blackmail operations is not.
